A supermodern sportscentre - Glade Jakuszycka will be built in Jakuszyce.
In Polish Jakuszyce a supermodern sportscentre is to be built, where the major function will facilitate biathlon and cross country skiing. However, the complex will also have year-round usage.
In the spring 2018, in Polish Jakuszyce and only five minutes by car from Harrachov, construction will begin on a supermodern multifunctional sportscentre, where the main function will facilitate biathlon and nordic skiing. Since this mordern centre of sport is designed to be multifunctional there will be year-round usage.
In the new complex it will be posible to use:

Glade Jakuszycka, as the new sportscentre will be called, will also offer in the new main building accomodation and a muzeum of winter sports
The construction and modernization shall be finished by the year 2020 and according to the preliminary plans the construction budget will be 80 to 100 million zloty, which is aproximatelly 500 to 630 milion Czech crowns.
We believe that this investment on the Polish side of Krkonoše supports the plans for reconstruction and modernization of Harrachov ski jumps, that are currently in a desolate state and no longer have the FIS accreditation for races.
In lower Silesia there is a hope that if the reconstruction of the ski jumps is successful, then Jakuszyce in combination with Harrachov may attempt to hold the world chamionship in classical skiing. That idea was considered several years ago in the context of year 2019. If all goes well, nomination for the years 2023 -2026 could be considered. We believe that the plan to save Harrachov ski jumps will succeed and the tradition of ski jumping in Harrachov will continue for years to come.
