Swieradow-Zdroj - a charming mountain spa

Only about half an hour's drive from Harrachov is the Spa town Swieradow-Zdroj, it is located on the Polish side of the Jizera Mountains. It has a spa tradition since the 16th century and the local spa springs are suitable, for example, to treat stomach or liver problems. At the same time, a part of the local springs is, due to the presence of radon, slightly radioactive.
Even though the spa is located at an altitude of 450-650 meters, there is, due to warm wind blowing from the Polish lowlands very pleasant microclimate. Jizera Mountains and the highest peak in Poland - Stóg Izerski (1105 m) rise above the town .A comfortable chairlift will take you to Stog Izerski in eight minutes-long journey. You will have time to enjoy the views across the valley and the nearby Giant Mountains. There was built a modern 2nd longest Polish ski slope, 2500 meters long. In summer, it may be explored by bicycle. From the top station you can go to the Czech Spruce, located about an hour of walking or to the many hiking trails and bike paths along the ridges of the Jizera and nearby Giant Mountains.
